The team is responsible for the progression of VBS2 Lite from several years of development, and the focus has been on driving the project to completion. The team has been able to fund their activities through private donations, so they can be more focussed on VBS2 Lite than on the commercial project.
VBS2 Lite is still in development, but it is getting there. I'm optimistic that it will be ready in a matter of weeks rather than months, but the reality is that I have other priorities which have kept me from working on it.
In the last couple of months, I have worked on the core scripting systems for VBS2 Lite. I've also been contributing to the documentation and tutorials, and I'm now working on the system to allow VBS2 users to create scenarios from scratch, rather than through the scenario editor, which was built into the full version.
So it's a pretty cool scenario editor if you can get past the fragmentation. I've been playing it for a few months now, and it has a good community of dedicated modders. I'll have to see if I can muster the bandwidth to finish my first campaign, and even if I do, it will require a lot of work to get it ready for release, but it's getting there. There are also the mods for the full version of VBS2, but I haven't had the time or resources to really get into it. I will eventually, and if my circumstances allow it, I'd rather just wait for the full version.
Next week we'll be revealing a new set of mods for Destiny 2 which are yet to be announced. It's time to cover off the most exciting part of any Destiny 2 update, the Mod World Update.
